Dr. Ellen Brown, a hospice and palliative medicine physician will lead us in a session to discuss many of the important issues that arise in the last months, weeks and days of life and how to better prepare for them. She will discuss helpful tips in starting crucial conversations with your loved ones as well as your healthcare provider and how to incorporate your values into your healthcare decisions.
This will be an interactive session, providing space to share in small breakout groups and Q&A with Dr. Brown.
This event is free of charge, part of the "Afternoon Tea" series with the Sage-ing® Legacy Program. If you are able, please consider making a donation in order to support our continued programming.

Dr. Ellen Brown is a pioneer in developing the role of the hospice physician in the California bay area. She has provided care in the home to thousands of hospice patients and their families in her 20 years at Pathways Hospice. She has trained countless Stanford Palliative Medicine and Geriatrics fellows who now provide care throughout the United States. Her favorite part of her job was spending time with patients and families and finding out what is important to them at the end of life and helping them achieve their goals. She feels it’s a privilege to be welcomed into someone’s home and be present during these inspiring and intimate moments. She currently works as a consultant to patients and families dealing with serious illness.
